Diya is a Hindu daily practice and reflection app. This policy explains what information Diya may collect, process, use, and share when you use the iOS app and related hosted services.
Information Diya Collects Or Processes
Diya does not require you to create an account. Some information is stored locally on your device, including app content, preferences, identifiers, and feature state.
Diya may process content and interaction data you choose to create, save, submit, or generate through the app, together with related app context, identifiers, and technical data. Diya may use this information to operate, maintain, personalize, analyze, secure, and improve the app.
When you use a feature that relies on Diya's backend or an AI service, the content and context needed to provide that feature may be sent to Diya's backend and service providers.
If product analytics are enabled for a release, Diya may collect app content, usage, interaction, device, and technical data. This information may be used to understand and improve the app.
If advertising attribution or measurement is enabled for a release, Diya may use the Meta/Facebook SDK and related services to measure ad performance and conversions. Diya may process limited device, subscription, purchase, and interaction data for these purposes. This does not include user-provided content or direct contact information.
Diya may also use Supabase to store app content and records needed to operate features, support subscriptions, understand product use, and maintain the service. This may include identifiers, contextual, subscription, interaction, and technical data.
If you contact us for support, we collect the information you choose to provide.
How Information Is Used
Diya may use content and interaction data to operate core app features, maintain and personalize the service, understand product use, troubleshoot issues, provide support, maintain security, prevent abuse, improve Diya, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal information.
Third-Party Services
Diya shares the content and context needed to provide AI-powered features with providers such as Anthropic or OpenAI. These providers process information as needed to provide the requested feature, operate the service, troubleshoot issues, maintain safety, and comply with legal obligations.
Diya may use YouTube API Services to provide YouTube-hosted media. YouTube and Google may process device, browser, and playback data under their policies, including the Google Privacy Policy and YouTube Terms of Service.
If product analytics are enabled, Diya may use a product analytics provider such as PostHog to process content and interaction data. If advertising attribution or measurement is enabled, Diya may use the Meta/Facebook SDK and related services to measure ad performance and conversions. Diya may use Supabase and other cloud infrastructure providers to process app content and operational records. Service providers that process user data are expected to protect user data as described in this policy and as required by applicable law.
Local Data
App content, progress, preferences, and other feature state may be stored locally on your device. Some information may also be sent to Diya's backend or service providers as described in this policy. Local data is not used for advertising or tracking. Deleting the app removes the device copy of Diya app data, but it does not automatically delete information already stored by Diya's backend or service providers.
On iOS, Diya may store limited feature state in a shared App Group so app extensions can function. This local state is not transmitted unless described elsewhere in this policy.
Notifications And Purchases
Notification permission is optional and may be used to provide reminders.
Apple and RevenueCat process in-app purchases and subscriptions. Diya may receive limited purchase, subscription, transaction, and entitlement data to administer access and provide support. Diya does not receive or store payment card information. If advertising measurement is enabled, limited conversion data may be shared with Meta/Facebook.
Tracking
Diya may use the Meta/Facebook SDK and related services for advertising attribution and measurement. Diya may ask for permission under Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. If permission is granted, Diya may access an advertising identifier; if permission is denied, it will not. Diya does not sell personal information, share personal information with data brokers, or use user-provided content for advertising attribution or measurement.
Data Retention And Deletion
Information processed by Diya's backend and service providers may be retained according to their retention and security practices for as long as reasonably necessary to operate and improve the app, provide support, maintain records, prevent abuse, or comply with legal obligations.
You may request access to or deletion of information associated with a support request or backend record by contacting us. Because Diya does not require accounts, we may need additional information to locate a record. Locally stored app data can be deleted by deleting the app from your device. Deleting the app alone does not automatically delete backend records.
Data Security
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information, including encryption in transit where supported and access controls for service infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
Diya is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.
Your Choices
You can decline optional permissions in iOS Settings and choose not to use optional features that rely on third-party services. You can also delete the app to remove locally stored app data and contact us to request deletion of backend records as described above.
Changes To This Policy
We may update this policy as Diya changes. The updated policy will be posted with a new "Last updated" date.
