What can you expect from a Diya guide?
A clear question, a direct answer, a named author, and sources you can follow for yourself. Guides that discuss religious or cultural claims receive an additional review before they appear on the site.
Where can you see the evidence?
Sources appear at the end of each guide with the author, institution, publisher, edition, or link we used whenever that information is available. You should be able to move from our summary back to the source without taking our word for it.
How does Diya write about differing traditions?
When practices or interpretations vary, we say so instead of presenting one approach as universal. We do not invent Sanskrit, transliteration, translations, festival dates, quotations, or religious instructions.
How do you know when a guide changed?
The “updated” date changes only when the guide itself receives a meaningful revision—not whenever the website is rebuilt. If a guide is no longer reliable enough to stand behind, we remove it from the public collection.
How are corrections made?
We return to the passage and its sources, make the correction on the page, and update the date when the change is meaningful. You can use the correction address shown at the end of any guide.
